This phoneme bingo activity is a simple and enjoyable way for students to reinforce their blending skills. Students will then mark the represented image on their bingo sheet with a counter. This activity can be used in rotations, or as both small group and whole class.

Phoneme practice

These phoneme bookmarks allow students to experiment with individual phonemes to create words with the same ending, for example ‘hat, cat, fat’. This activity can be used with younger year levels as an introduction or conclusion activity for a lesson.

Spin a word

The spin a word game involves student creating a spinner to pick a consonant blend. Students must then match the blend with the rest of a word to form a completed word. This game encourage students to blend individual phonemes in a game-like context. This activity can be used in rotations and both small group and individual activities.
